New City, New pictures

Sorry everyone.  We were chatting with James, but I have not had the time to update is blog for the past few weeks.

James is now in the Philippines Antipolo mission.  He is in Taguig City, just south east of Manila.  This is the first time he's been a big city and is having a hard time adjusting....He is the Zone Leader there and his companion goes home in a month and from the other mission transferred into the new mission with him.

James is also struggling a bit, trying to adapt to the new mission, with a companion that comes from a different mission and set of expectation.  However, he is being strong and trying to work through the challenges.

As he's been working through them, he's been working on his Christ-like attributes and trying to love all and be 100% obedient.  Here is some highlights from our chat with him tonight.

So, yesterday I went on splits with a member preparing to serve a mission and he wanted to see what I do. So, we taught 8 lessons, found 4 new people to work with, met a bunch of members, understood the area, and talked to 27 other people on the street. I did loads of work in 6 hours and loved it so much.  One person we are working with is actually a part member and is around 17. He is cool, and may be a little harder to work with, but I think we can get him to come around. He was willing to listen after I started commenting about rap music and stuff he was listening to at that moment. That struck his interest a little there, so that was fun to watch. Should be going back next Sunday if possible and we can see where that goes!!

So we are supposed to have two baptisms on Aug 3. They are going really well. Both part member families and this week we are making sure all the lessons are taught. They have been doing really good. One is a 12 year old girl but I thought she was like 16-18 because she asks deep understanding type questions and it is amazing.

I might be able to go to the temple on Thursday because my comp has an x ray ( all going home missionaries get x-rays) so that should be fun

Thought for this week:

Patience and rely upon the lord. What ever you go through in life, The Savior knows what it is and if you rely upon him, he will help you out. As it says in Doctrine and Covenants, Patience in thine afflictions and he shall exalt thee on high! He will help you just have faith that he will and give everything to him!
