So this week is really kind of a blur but it was still amazing!!! See if I can remember it all!!
So remember Bonifacio, our baptism that we had last week? Well he was able to get the priesthood on Sunday after his confirmation, and he was just going on and on about how amazing he felt!! We also found out this week that he is now deployed but we still text a little and stay in contact and is still doing amazing!!
This week we received a referral from a member in our area and were told that their address is like this WHOLE ROAD!! That is the issue with addresses here, they aren't clear and numbers of houses are completely random!! So we walked, and walked, and walked, and guess what, we walked some more!! NEVER FOUND THEM!! We tried calling the member but they never answer, that is another problem, hahah but I LOVE IT!!
Mary Grace and Florentina are doing amazing and want to be baptized, the only issue is that they aren't married to their husbands so we need to help them through that before anything really happens. They came to church again and had a great time even with crazy kids!!
Also this week, we had an amazing day of finding and deepening our teaching pool!! We met tons of new people and several of them are already looking promising and keeping commitments!! So we are excited for them too! Their names are Tatay Rody and Tatay Rommie, both retired but super amazing! on Sunday we shared and amazing lesson with them about religion and faith which turned into PRAYER, SCRIPTURE STUDY, AND GOING TO CHURCH! And we related that to JOSEPH SMITH AND THE RESTORATION and after we shared they were like, "our hairs are standing up!! Let's read this book and go to church next Sunday!" We are looking forward to them!
On Friday there was this new activity that our stake is doing every quarter, called a "missionary fireside", for the ward and the missionaries to mix/mingle and just get to know each other. It was super fun to do and we all loved it because our whole zone was there as well!!
El John, Marilou, and lawrence who are all 18 or 19 and have been referred to us by there coach who is a member. They love the lessons and are super interested, but just busy with school constantly so we are working on them but excited for baptisms in October for them!! Teaching them the Plan of Salvation was amazing and they were just eating it up!!
We had 8 people come to church and they are all planning on being baptized in October or November!! Those included everyone above and some new people we've started working with. Diane (part member who already wants to serve a mission because she loves Christ), and then Gracelle and Jefferson ( Referrals from my old AP in San Pablo who is home now and referred them to us). They are just still a little new so not progressing yet but I will keep you updated!!
My comp and I are having a fun time though, still cracking jokes, seeing miracles, and killing it in the work. We have the goal of challenging 15 people every day, meaning 105 a week, and it is so much fun to talk to everyone!!
A little spiritual thought:
Heavenly father is always there to help you and re confirm feelings that you have felt in the past. The thing is though we need to ask him for that help right? How do we ask him? Through prayer obviously. Prayer so amazing it is the path way to communicate with Heavenly Father! This is also the first step we take to repentance! As we teach repentance to people here, we emphasize how it is a good thing, how they grow closer to God and feel his love as we repent. This should be the main focus as we teach meaning this is the main thing we need to do in life, Repent and come close to him. This is the way to always feel his love and be continuously happy!
